How many attendees are international?

Approximately 15 percent of attendees are international. About 85 percent of attendees are from the United States.

Can I register for Postgraduate Courses, Meet the Professor Sessions and Lunch and Learn Sessions on site?

Yes, if space is available you can register on-site for Postgraduate Courses, Meet the Professor Sessions and Lunch and Learn Sessions. Advanced registration is encouraged because many of these sessions fill up quickly. Availability is not guaranteed.

Registration for the general session is required to attend all Postgraduate Courses, Meet the Professor Sessions and Lunch and Learn Sessions. No exceptions will be made to this policy. Registration fees for these sessions are in addition to the general session registration fee.

Are exhibit booths carpeted?

The APSS requires all exhibit booths to be carpeted. The APSS does not provide carpeting, which must be ordered in advance through the official meeting decorator, Freeman Decorating. The aisles will be carpeted in tuxedo.

When can I start installing and dismantling my booth?

Exhibit installation will begin on Saturday, June 9 from 12:30pm until 5:00pm, and continue on Sunday, June 10 from 8:00am until 5:00pm. All crates and carts must be removed from the exhibit hall by 5:00pm on Sunday. Exhibit dismantling may not begin before 2:00pm on Wednesday, June 13 and must be completed by 12:00pm on Thursday, June 14. Additional information on assembling/dismantling can be found in the Exhibitor Prospectus.

Can attendees with exhibitor hall passes only get into the general sessions?

No. Exhibitor hall passes will only enable access to the exhibit hall. Full meeting badges are required for all general sessions. Each exhibiting company will receive one complimentary meeting badge.  Exhibitors may purchase additional meeting badges to get into general sessions.

What is the exhibit booth cancellation policy?

All notices of cancellation must be received in writing. The date of receipt of such notice will be used as the official cancellation/reduction date. Notices received prior to May 6, 2012, will incur a penalty equal to 20% of the total contracted space costs. Refunds will not be given for cancellations/reductions received after May 6, 2012.

How many exhibiting companies participated in last year’s meeting?

How does my company/organization apply for an exhibit booth?

Complete and return the application for exhibit space located within the SLEEP 2012 Exhibitor Prospectus. The application is located in the Exhibitor Information section of this website. Payment in full must be provided with the application. Additional details and exhibit guidelines can be found within the SLEEP 2012 Exhibitor Prospectus.

How do I receive CME credits or a letter of attendance?

To receive CME credits or a letter of attendance, SLEEP 2012 attendees must register for CME credit. The administration fees are $20 for AASM Members and $35 for nonmembers. Individuals must complete an online evaluation form to receive CME credit or a letter of attendance. Once the evaluation form is complete and the credits have been verified, there will be a link at the bottom of your event page that will enable you to receive the certificate or letter of attendance by email. Further information will be detailed on the CME Reference Form included with your registration materials.

How do I make hotel reservations?

All hotel reservations must be made via the SLEEP 2012 Housing Bureau, which will open in January 2012. The Housing Bureau will accept online, fax or mailed registrations. Additional information will be posted on the SLEEP 2012 website in January.

Taxi Service
Taxi stands are located outside each terminal at Boston Logan International Airport. The average fare to downtown Boston is approximately $25-35. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic conditions and your destination.

Will shuttle service be offered at SLEEP 2012?

Shuttle service is not provided from the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center to the hotel properties. The hotels are in proximity to the Hynes Convention Center. A map is included in the SLEEP 2012 Preliminary Program.

When will I receive notification of my accepted abstract or session proposal?

Abstract notification letters will be sent by email in late January. Postgraduate course nofication letters will be sent by mail and email in late December. Session proposal notification letters will be sent by mail and email in February.

What is the cancellation policy?

Notification of cancellation must be submitted in writing to the APSS national office. A $50 administrative fee will be withheld on cancellations postmarked on or before May 25, 2012. No refunds are possible after May 25, 2012. If you are registered and do not attend the meeting, you will not be provided a refund.

Registration opens in January 2012. At this time, there will be three ways to register:

  • Online(credit card only)
  • By Fax
    Submit the SLEEP 2012 Registration forms to (630) 737-9789 (credit card only)
  • By Mail

What are the deadlines to register?

The deadline for Advanced Registration is Wednesday, April 25, 2012
Register before April 25th to save significantly on general registration fees.

Pre-registration ends on May 30, 2012.
After this date only onsite registrations will be accepted.
