Who attends the SLEEP Meetings?

The SLEEP meeting is attended by over 5,000 physicians, researchers, technologists, students and allied health care professionals. Over fifty percent of the meeting’s attendees specialize in sleep medicine. Other specialties represented include pulmonary medicine, neurology, neuroscience, psychology, psychiatry and internal medicine.

How do I make an edit to my registration?

What is the cancellation policy?

Notification of cancellation must be submitted in writing to the APSS national office. A $50 administrative fee will be withheld on cancellations postmarked on or before May 25, 2011. No refunds are possible after this date. If you are registered for the meeting and do not attend, you will not be provided a refund for not attending.

Abstract notification letters will be sent via e-mail in late January 2011. Postgraduate course notification letters will be sent via mail and e-mail in late December 2010. Session proposal notification letters will be sent via mail and e-mail in mid February 2011.

Will shuttle service be offered at SLEEP 2011?

Shuttle service is not provided from the Minneapolis Convention Center to the hotel properties. The hotels are in proximity to the Minneapolis Convention Center. A map is included in the SLEEP 2011 Preliminary Program.

How do I get from the airport to my hotel?

Attendees may take a taxi or shuttle from the airport to their hotel. The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is approximately 16 miles from downtown Minneapolis. Approximate fares to downtown Minneapolis range from $34 - $44, not including tips.

Shuttle service is also available. Book your airport shuttle in advance to take advantage of discounts. Click here to reserve your shuttle.   Advance reservations are highly recommended. Shuttle service to the downtown area is $16 one way. For more information visit www.supershuttle.com.

Attendees may also take the Light Rail. Trains run every 7 or 8 minutes during peak hours and typically every 10 to 15 minutes at other times of the day. From the airport, trains take you to the Mall of America in about 11 minutes and to the Warehouse District in downtown Minneapolis in about 25 minutes. How do I make hotel reservations?

All hotel reservations must be made via the SLEEP 2011 Housing Bureau, which will open in January 2011. The Housing Bureau will accept online, fax or mailed registrations. Additional information and details will be posted on the SLEEP 2011 Web site in January.

How do I submit a letter of intent for a session proposal?

How do I receive CME credits or a letter of attendance?

To receive CME credits or a letter or attendance, SLEEP 2011 attendees must register for CME credit. The administrative fees are: $20 for AASM Members and $35 for non-members. Individuals must complete an online evaluation form to receive CME credit or letter of attendance.   Once the evaluation form is complete and the credits have been verified, there will be a link at the bottom of your event page that will allow you to e-mail yourself the certificate or letter of attendance. Further information will be detailed on the CME Reference Form included with your registration materials.

How does my company/organization apply for an exhibit booth?

What is the exhibit booth cancellation policy?

All notices of cancellation must be received in writing. The date of receipt of such notice will be used as the official cancellation/reduction date. Notices received prior to May 6, 2011, will incur a penalty equal to 20% of the total contracted space costs. Refunds will not be given for cancellations/reductions received after May 6, 2011.

When can I start installing and dismantling my booth?

Exhibit installation will begin on Saturday, June 11 from 12:30pm until 5:00pm, and continue on Sunday, June 12 from 8:00am until 5:00pm. All crates and carts must be removed from the exhibit hall by 5:00pm on Sunday. Exhibit dismantling may not begin before 2:00pm on Wednesday, June 15 and must be completed by 12:00pm on Thursday, June 16. Additional information on assembling/dismantling can be found in the Exhibitor Prospectus.

Can attendees with exhibitor hall passes only get into the general sessions?

No. Exhibitors with hall passes can only get into the exhibit hall. In order to have access to the general session meeting you will need to have a full meeting badge. Each exhibiting company receives one complimentary full meeting badge. Additional full meeting badges can be purchased.

Are exhibit booths carpeted?

The APSS requires all exhibit booths to be carpeted; the APSS does not provide carpeting. Carpeting must be ordered in advance of the meeting through the official meeting decorator, Freeman Decorating. The aisles will be carpeted in charcoal.

Is it possible to register for postgraduate courses, meet the professor or lunch and learn sessions without registering for the SLEEP 2010 general session?

General session registration is required in order to attend postgraduate courses, meet the professor or lunch and learn sessions. No exceptions are made to this policy. Registration fees for postgraduate courses, meet the professor and lunch and learn sessions are additional to the general session registration fee.

Yes, you can register for postgraduate courses, meet the professor or lunch and learn sessions on site, but advanced registration is strongly encouraged.  These events quickly fill up and there is no guarantee that there will be availability on site.
